Jatropha Financial Projections

The following projections will help illustrate the likely harvest schedule and yields from growing 100 Jatropha trees. Based on each $5,000, net income from $16,909 to $21,606 may be possible depending on various factors. If, after you review these projections, you have any questions about having us grow Jatropha for you, please feel free to call or e-mail us. We will be happy to respond to any questions you have.

JATROPHA PROJECTIONS - 100 TREES

Table 1: This table shows the projected growth, harvests and yields from planting 100 Jatropha Trees on our farms. The initial price per pound is $0.18 (US) and will increase as the price of diesel fuel increases according to the schedule present below.

$0.19 (US) at $5.60 per gallon of diesel fuel

$0.20 (US) at $6.60 per gallon of diesel fuel
$0.21 (US) at $7.20 per gallon of diesel fuel
$0.22 (US) at $8.40 per gallon of diesel fuel
$0.23 (US) at $9.60 per gallon of diesel fuel

Table 2. The table below incorporates payments to Jatropha plant owners atvarious assumed rates for diesel fuel ranging from $4.60 a gallon to $9.6 per gallon. Prices are fixed at the time plants are harvested and based on the monthly average rate of diesel fuel sold in the United States for the month and year plants are harvested. If at the time of harvest the average US diesel price is in excess of $9.60 per gallon we will publish on our website the price being paid to tree owners.

NOTE: THE PROJECTIONS IN THESE TABLES, AND THE EXPLANATORY NOTES, ARE PROVIDED FOR YOU TO BETTER UNDERSTAND THE PROCESS OF GROWING AND HARVESTING JATROPHA TREES. WHILE WE BELIEVE THESE ESTIMATES OF GROWTH, COSTS AND YIELDS TO BE FAIR AND REASONABLE, WE CANNOT GUARANTEE THE FUTURE VALUE OF YOUR TREES, NOR THE SEEDS OR PROCEEDS YOU WILL RECEIVE FROM THEIR HARVEST. WE ENCOURAGE YOU TO SEEK THE COUNSEL OF AN INDEPENDENT PROFESSIONAL WHO CAN EVALUATE THE REASONABLENESS AND ACCURACY OF THESE PROJECTIONS.

NOTES TO PROJECTIONS

The projections above are based on paying Jatropha tree owners a set fee based on the average price of diesel fuel as sold in the United States. Given the current price of diesel fuel is approximately $5.00 per gallon we have projected out to an average price of $9.60 at which tree owners would receive 23 cents per pound of Jatropha seeds harvested from their trees. Should the price be higher we will of course publish a new payment plan for all owners. If the price is below $5.00 per gallon at the time of harvest we will also have to publish a new payment schedule.

Both the timing and number of trees harvested in the plants early development are based upon our actual practices here on our farms, and for the subsequent years, on a combination of our experience and the latest published silvicultural practices derived from years of others' experience in harvesting Jatropha. The actual harvests of your trees will be determined by our professional scientists, who monitor the growth profiles of your trees on our farms. Please also note that several additional months may be necessary from the time of harvest until the seeds are crushed into oil in preparation for the production of biodiesel. It is only then, that payment is made to all tree owners.
